The Shrimpers started well, mounting a well-worked move which culminated with a shot on the turn from Louie Bloom which went inches the wrong side of the post.
Harwich were facing strong opposition from a higher level but were up for the challenge and Liam White also fired in a dangerous shot.
However, in a closely contested first half, Regent came back strongly to take the lead from a cross that was side-footed into the net.
Five minutes into the second half, Harwich equalised with a well-taken header into the corner of the net by Bloom (pictured).

The Shrimpers' celebrations were cut short when, a couple of minutes later, Brightlingsea regained the lead with a thunderbolt drive, taken from outside the penalty area, that rocketed into the net.
Harwich were matching their opponents with good efforts from Tiwa Odufuye and Bloom.
However, midway through the half, Brightlingsea increased their lead, but the match was still end to end with both goalkeepers making fine saves.
Before the final whistle, Harwich came close to reducing the arrears with an effort that hit the crossbar and later the Regent keeper made a super save from Shrimpers youngster Jack Milne's shot.
