Race night to be held to support injured striker

Fundraiser for Jake Gordon to be staged on Saturday November 28 after match with Benfleet.

Harwich and Parkeston FC is to stage a race night to raise money to support the injured Jake Gordon.
The striker was carried off during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Halstead and had to be taken to hospital afterwards. While it is yet to be confirmed, it is suspected he has ruptured his Achilles.
Gordon now faces a lengthy spell off work – as well as on the football sidelines – and to help him financially, the club is to stage a special race night on Saturday November 28. This will take place following the home Essex Senior League game with Benfleet, which kicks off at 3pm.
We are currently seeking six race sponsors - £50 per race.
Horse owners are also needed - £10 per horse, per race. The winning owner in each race will receive £30 in prize money.
If you can help, please contact the club on email at harwichfc@yahoo.com or via its social-media channels. Alternatively, speak to a committee member on a forthcoming matchday at the Royal Oak.
