This Saturday (July 18) sees the annual Norman Mann Trophy game contested on the Royal Oak.
The Harwich and Parkeston first team will entertain local rivals Brantham Athletic (kick-off 3pm) as both sides continue their preparations for the new season.
The winners will get their hands on the trophy, created in honour of former HPFC president Norman (pictured), who died in 2021. Norman was a lifelong Shrimper, who attended games home and away for many years.
Gate receipts will be donated to a charity of his family’s choosing. Entry is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. Under-16s get in free.

Brantham, relegated out of the Isthmian League last season and now back at Step 5 of the Non-League Pyramid, are managed by two ex-Shrimpers. Michael Brothers made almost 100 appearances for the club as a player, while Craig Clarke was assistant boss when Harwich won promotion in the 2024/25 season.
The club looks forward to welcoming both men back to the Gwinnell and Sons Royal Oak for what should be the Shrimpers' toughest test of pre-season so far.
The weekend at the Oak actually kicks off on Friday night when the Under-23s play their opening friendly of the season, hosting Essex and Suffolk Border League side Alresford Colne Rangers. Kick-off is at 7pm.
Meanwhile, the Under-18s also get their pre-season under way on Saturday, travelling to another Border League team, Roman Rovers Reserves.
