HARWICH U23s BEATEN BY TWO LATE GOALS

Terry Francis30 Apr - 10:10

WITH A DRAW LOOKING THE LIKELY OUTCOME, HAVERHILL ROVERS STRUCK TO TAKE ALL 3 POINTS

For their last match of the season, the Shrimpers had a management duo of Luke Harrison and Stuart Corner at the helm.
Almost from the kick-off, Rovers won a corner kick which resulted in them taking the lead with a shot from close range.
Harwich gradually got their game together to recover from this setback and the match then became an even contest.
The Shrimpers were back on terms before half time with a very good goal, scored by Ewan Livingston (pictured). With the goalkeeper almost on top of him, he cleverly slotted the ball into the net from an acute angle.
The second half was nip and tuck with Harwich creating some good chances but unable to apply the finishing touch.
Haverhill were at their most dangerous with the finish approaching and triumphed with two well-taken goals.
Harwich team: Thomas Maurer, Alex Pryke, Oakley McNair, Rory Breen, Archie Corner (captain), Theo Stevenson-Miller, Freddy Bethell, Cody Harrison, Ewan Livingston, Jack Balaam and Jaidan Smith. Substitutes: Joseph Simmons, Riley Stevenson-Miller and Liam Clarke (all used).
A big thank you to all the fans who have supported the Shrimpers' Under-18 and Under-23 teams during the season and we look forward to seeing you again during the 2025/26 campaign.
