Harwich & Parkeston took the lead in the 13th minute with a well taken header by Connor Humphrys. A minute later Cornard United levelled the scores. By half time the very good United team had established a deserved 3-1 lead and Harwich faced an uphill task to get back into the game.
The mountain was even bigger when United scored a 4th goal but to their credit the Shrimpers fought back to give a much better second half performance. Harwich were rewarded for their efforts in the 80th minute when Connor Humphrys reduced the lead with a slick finish and when he completed a really well taken hat trick the Shrimpers were buzzing.
Despite Harwich pressing hard in the closing minutes they could not rescue a point and Cornard celebrated their victory.
