FC Clacton took the lead in the first minute when the Shrimpers defence failed to clear a cross. Harwich were not phased by this set-back and with play end to end they equalised in the 17th minute with a with a well taken shot by Ewan Livingston. With a attackers on top, Livingston, who was leading the Harwich line well scored again but Clacton soon levelled the scores from the penalty spot when Barnaby Morton made no mistake with his shot. The first half was proving a goal feast and with the Shrimpers defence in trouble from a high cross Charlie Harvey restored the Seasiders lead but Owen Rayment got on the score-sheet for Harwich and the teams went in with 3 goals each at half time
Both teams continued to create goal scoring opportunities in the second half but it was not until the 80th minute that Joseph Hillier gave FC Clacton a 4-3 advantage. Harwich pressed hard in the closing stages and scored a deserved equaliser when Max Carter headed home from a corner kick.
