Harwich draw with an improved performance

Harwich were still missing key players and had to reshuffle, using Nicky Palmer and Tom O'Keefe as their central defenders. The Shrimpers started well and took the lead when Matt Geen flicked the ball on for Jake Plane to net. It was looking good for Harwich when they established a 2-0 interval lead, the second goal coming when Rory Harman pulled the ball back back from the goaline to cross for the well placed Jett Hogan to tap in. A defensive error after the break allowed Benfleet to reduce the arrears and get back in the game. Harwich had several good scoring opportunities but failed to add to the lead. However the Shrimpers camp was very disappointed with Benfleet's equalising goal which certainly looked to be offside.
