Harwich started well with Rory Harman sending a first time rocket inches over the crossbar . Within 10 minutes Harwich took the lead when Sean Bartlett fired in a rasping drive which gave the keeper no chance. There was only 15 minute gone when the visiting keeper could only parry
another Harman hot shot and leading scorer skipper Jordan Heath was on hand to tap in the Shrimpers second goal. Harwich continued to look good and with 30 minutes gone Bartlett scroed his second when following good by Kevin Coyle he made 3-0 with another fine strike. It had been a super half for Harwich who never allowed Halstead to get into their stride and they deserved their commanding interval lead. After the break Halstead came more into the game but the Harwich defence were at their best and rarely allowed the visitors a clear sight of goal. By contrast, Harwich were still creating chances. Heath crossed and Bartlett saw his effort smothered whilst Joe Knight fired a 30 yard piledriver inches over the Halstead crossbar. Heath was brought down on the edge of the penalty area and Coyle fired the free kick into the side netting. Halstead showed some clever touches in attack but Harwich were determined not to leave any gaps and went on to record a victory that will give them confidence that they can make their way up the League table.
