REPORT BY COLIN ROGERS AND TERRY FRANCIS
Harwich took the lead in the 6th minute when they mounted a three-man move involving Oakley McNair, Louie Bloom and Joe Knight, whose shot was blocked. However, the ball came back to Gareth Heath for the Shrimpers' doyen to score a vintage goal by curling his shot cleverly into the net.
Midway through the half, Harwich scored their second goal when skipper Heath fired over a well-directed corner kick for Knight (pictured) at the near post to flick his header deftly into the net. It was the striker's 20th goal of the season.
The Shrimpers were in control and with half time approaching Alfie Eldridge won possession on the edge of the penalty box and when he progressed into the area he was brought down. Knight clinically converted the resultant spot kick for the Harwich third goal.
Harwich were welcoming back Knight, after a short suspension, and Danny Garrad after an off -the-field injury, with both playing a vital part in pepping up the Shrimpers attack.
A minute before the break, Holbeach did show their capability when Shrimpers goalkeeper Brad Cook was called upon to tip a good shot over the crossbar for a corner.

Encouraged by this, Holbeach came out for the second half and enjoyed a 10-minute spell during which Marley Hamilton had an effort strike the crossbar and also another chance when Cook came well out of goal in an attempt to head the ball clear but the United front man found the angle too difficult to find the vacant net.
Harwich regained their dominance and in the 65th minute Knight completed an excellent hat-trick. This time it was with a good finish with his unfavoured left foot into the corner of the net.
As ever, Bloom had worked tremendously hard and was rewarded when he scored the Shrimpers' 5th goal from close range.
There were still 15 minutes remaining and with Harwich looking to stretch their lead even further, United keeper Josh Simpson twice made good saves to thwart substitute Alfie Canning.
It was a super all-round performance from Harwich, with their defence to be commended for keeping a clean sheet.
The Shrimpers now require five points from their remaining four games to ensure a home semi-final in the play-offs, although the main goal remains securing that runners-up spot with the chase potentially going down to the final game of the regular season at their main rivals for second place, Stanway Pegasus.
