REPORT BY DANIEL ROGERS
Framlingham pressured Harwich from the start but the Harwich defence held out until the 25th minute when Town took the lead from a disputed penalty kick scored by Josh Lucraft. The Shrimpers' protests centred on the well-placed assistant referee having signalled a corner kick, whereas the referee's decision was spot kick.
A couple of minutes later a through pass from James Ross was lobbed over Shrimpers goalkeeper Brad Cook for Framlingham's second goal.
It was a half in which Harwich had not threatened Framlingham's goal whilst Town were an impressive unit, deserving their interval lead.
Harwich came out after the interval and now started to make progress in attack with Dan Keeble's header going just over the crossbar and then in the 60th minute Town's goalkeeper saved Liam White's shot in a one-on-one situation.
Midway through the half Harwich came close again when from Gareth Heath's free kick, Ben Sergeant's effort hit the post and soon after, from Heath's corner kick, Mitch Knight saw his header cleared off the line.
Framlingham's third goal came in the closing minutes when Harwich were pushing forward and Town netted from a quick breakaway.
For Harwich, youngster Alfie Canning, playing an attacking role, impressed with another hard-working display.
After a first half in which Framlingham had dominated, Harwich gave a better performance and the Shrimpers camp will consider that the three-goal margin of defeat was harsh.
The loss leaves Hariwch playing catch-up in the play-off race with things now out of their own hands with five games to go.
