In front of a crowd of well over one hundred, Jordan Heath gave Harwich the lead in the 15th minute with a great shot from the edge of the penalty area which entered the net just under the crossbar. Harwich played well during the first half but were indebted to goalkeeper Scott Wass who pulled off a magnificent double save from Gas Rec.’s James Webb. Webb also saw another effort strike the crossbar but the Shrimpers deserved their interval lead. After the break it was a different story with Gas Rec. laying siege to the Harwich goal. Gas Rec's domination was rewarded wtih a goal scored by Jimmy Clewley. The Shrimpers were disciplined in getting players behind the ball and in their crowded goalmouth blocking the shots which Gas Rec. rained in. With central defender Daryl Johnston outstanding, Harwich continued to weather the storm and then in the final minute of the game at last managed to get the ball up to their potential match winner, Jordan Heath. His shot struck the post and rebounded to fellow striker Robbie Marks whose effort struck the opposite post.
