HARWICH & PARKESTON DEFEATED IN LOCAL DERBY AFTER STORMING SECOND HALF BY WIVENHOE
SHRIMPERS ONLY A GOAL DOWN AND WELL IN THE GAME AT HALF TIME BUT FADE AWAY AFTER THE BREAK AGAINST IN FORM TOWN.

Harwich should have taken an early lead but Matt Geen headed wide from a chance he would normally gobble up. Soon after Wivenhoe went in front when a Ben Timson cross was headed home by Jules Baven. Shrimpers central defender Elwen Lartey's excellent goal bound header brought a super save from the Town goalkeeper who tipped the ball over the crossbar. Half time came with Harwich a goal down and well in contention.
With an hour gone the ball broke to Dean Merrett from a corner and he diverted it into the ball of the net to make it 2-0 for Wivenhoe. Merrett leaped the highest to make 3-0 and Jack Mead completed the scoring with Town's fourth goal.
Wivenhoe are undefeated in their last 6 matches with 5 wins and a draw and are now in fourth place in the League table.
