Harwich included central defender Elwin Lartey, who is on a month loan from Brightlingsea, and he enjoyed an excellent debut. Holland impressed at the outset, moving the ball around quickly and both teams looked up for the occassion. Goalkeeper Sam Felgate saved Harwich when he grabbed the ball back when it was within inches of the goaline. Holland had the edge early on but from a corner Lartey went close for Harwich with a powerful downward header. Holland took the lead in the 32nd minute with a goal from their star striker Anthony Spyro and maintained their lead at the interval. Harwich have been coming back strongly in the second half of their matches and so it was as they sought an equaliser. The Shrimpers were rewarded for their efforts with a well worked goal, Lartey's free kick being cleverly moved on by Adam Hampson to Charlie Lindoe whose well struck shot from the edge of the penalty area was greeted with jubiliation by the Harwich supporters. The result remained on a knife edge with a draw a fair result to this keenly contested encounter.
Harwich third draw from five matches and surely on their performances that first victoryof the season can't be far off.
