A goal in the 70th minute was to settle this game but the Shrimpers played well enough to deserve a point.

Harwich were without injured striker Karl Andrade and Charlie Lindoe partnered Adam Hampson up front. The best chance of the first half came for Harwich when Charlie Lindoe was clean through but his shot struck goalkeeper Shaun Hinton. The Shrimpers also had a strong penalty claim denied when the keeper appeared to take out an attacker. Frenford were physically strong and powerful and relied on the long ball. So halftime arrived goaless but with Harwich having had the better chances. After the break it became obvious that Harwich were getting no joy in attack with the giant Frenford defenders dominating the dimunitive Harwich forwards when the ball was in the air. There was the fear that although Harwich were holding their own in midfied and defence one goal was going to settle the issue. Shrimpers keeper Sam Felgate made a fine save when he tipped a dipping long range effort from full back Louie Handley over the crossbar but a few minutes later Justin Umeh gave Frenford the lead when he netted in a crowded goalmouth. Harwich one real shot on goal in this half came when Adam Hampson's drive was well saved by Hinton. If they can sharpen up in this department and have the rub of the green, which has not been in their favour so far, results should be more fruitful.
Harwich squad: Same Felgate, Nicky Palmer, Jack Higgy, Ollie Law, Alex Taylor, Wayne Blackman, Rory Harman, Harry Banner, Adam Hampson, Charlie Lindoe, Elliot Johnson. Substitutes: Billy Latto, Matt Geen, Jamie Beecham, Grovenor Fabion and Les Lewis.
On Wednesday the Shrimpers travel to Coggeshall in the League and then on Saturday entertain Walthamstow (from Step 5 in the Essex Senior League) in the F.A. Vase, kick off 3pm
