Felixstowe brought a good following from the other side of the harbour that separates the two clubs and the teams provided an excellent match. The visitors took the lead just before the first half ended with a well taken goal. Harwich had local youngster Bradley Cook deputising for the unavailable Sam Felgate in goal and his display was faultless. Midway through the second half Kevin Coyle equalised for Harwich with a super free kick from 20 yards. Felixstowe were dangerous in attack and it looked as though as changes were made, Harwich would do well to hold on for a draw. Then in the final 15 minutes the Shrimpers bosses brought on teenage striker Ross Purll, a natural scorer, and his tenacity in the penalty area saw him hold off challenges and shoot the clinching goal.
