Brightlingsea looked the more dangerous team in the early stages and went close when Charliie Gilbert's shot skimmed the crossbar. Harwich first shot came in the 23rd minute when Jordan Heath's first time effort went wide. Jake Phillips got clean through for Regent but goalkeeper Sam Felgate came out and blocked his shot. Shrimpers Tony Joseph saw keeper Smith was off his line but his shot was off target. it was against the run of play that Harwich took the lead in the 35th minute when defender Harvey Cowler played an excellent long pass to Shaun Mathurian who crossed the ball accross the face of the goal where under pressure Haydon Dutch turned the ball into his own net. In the 67th minute Harwich full back Harry Johnston's attempted back pass went straight to Gilbert and he snapped up the opportunity to equalise for Brightlingsea. Within a minute Harwich were back in front with Jake Kioussis creating an opening for Jordan Heath to shoot into the net. The young Regent side had been excellent in giving Hariwch a hard match and 3 minutes later they deservedly levelled the scores again with substitute Charlie Lindoe the scorer. Harwich substitute Callum Grifffiths header bounced on top of the crossbar and then he scored the winner with a cracking 20 yard drive to end a highly entertaining match. Three important points for Harwich as they strive to stay in the race for the title and again they pleased their Managers and Supporters with their fighting spirit.
