Harwich made a bad start failing to cover the near post from a corner and Sean Radley took advantage to give Coggeshall the lead after only 2 minutes. United were quicker on the ball than the Shrimpers and midway through the half the home defence was again caught napping with Tom Blackwell adding the second gaol. With half time approaching Harwich were devasted by two goals within five minute. Fisrtly Andy Fennell found space and punished Harwich with United' s third goal and then Blackwell scored his second goal with a sweet finish that curled into the net. In the second half Harwich held their own, passing the ball neatly but never looking likely to stage a comeback by penetrating the Coggeshall defence. There was a good crowd of 200 but it was a disappointing day for Harwich as they were unable to put on a show for them with Coggleshall deserved winners who continue to make up ground and mount a Championship challenge.
