A point apiece was a fair result from a game where their was little to choose between the teams

Harwich were again supported by a good crowd wtih 150 spectators at the Royal Oak. The Shrimpers were without their skipper and leading goalscorer Jordan Heath and included new signing Billy Coe in midfield. Play was mainly in midfield during the first half and Harwich best effort came when Jake Kioussis skimmed the crossbar with a cracking 20 yard drive. With half time approaching the action hotted up with Frenford central defender Chris Beaupierre sent off for handling a goal scoring chance. Callum Griffith gave Harwich the lead with a well taken kick from the resultant penalty. A few minutes later Harwich were also reduced to 10 men when their central defender Joe Knight was fouled and retaliated. Frenford started the second hald strongly and Harvey Cowler headed off the goal line to keep Harwich lead intact. In the 70 minute Callum Griffith had a great chance to increase Harwich lead when he was clean through but with Frenford appeals for offside denied, in attempting to lob, his efffort was easily saved by advancing keeper Luis Silver. Shaun Mathurin cleverly beat his marker but good defending saw his cross cut out and the second goal that Harwich needed would not come. With 15 minutes reamaining Frenford's most dangerous player Larry Asare was rewarded when he equalised with a good finish. Both teams looked for a winner and Harwich had to defend resolutely to enusure that they kept a point.
