Despite having some good players Fire are currently struggling as a team and adopted a physical approach in their enthusiastic efforts to get clear of the lower reaches of the League. Harwich were in good form from the start and were already in command when Fire had a player sent off midway through the first half following a stamp on Ryan Heath. Goal difference could be important in the final league placings and the Shrimpers sharpshooters were on song with goals from Callum Griffiths (2) Jordan Heath (2) Elliot Johnson and Shaun Koussis to establish a lead of 6-1 at the interval. Substitute Tyler Rose came on to score an excellent goal and with Ryan Heath and Jake Koussis receiving knocks he was also joined by Harry Harvey. During the second half the fact that Harwich only added one goal was due to some fine saves by the Fire goalkeeper which also prevented Griffiths and Heath from completing their hat tricks. Harwich were without the suspended Joe Knight, who has been so influential and his place in the centre of defence was taken by Nicky Palmer who had a very sound game. A very satisfying performance from Harwich with a good atmosphere in the Shrimpers dressing room afterwards.
