The Harwich Managers made a few changes to cope with the busy holiday period including resting keeper Sam Felgate after a knock. The first half remained deadlocked with few scoring chances. Ryan Heath had a dangerous cross pushed away for Harwich whilst former Shrimper Charlie Cook went close for Wivenhoe just before half time.
Harwich were more enterprising in the second half and took the lead in the 50th minute when Jordan Heath and Jamie Beecham played a nice one two move finishing with Beecham finding the corner of the net with a good finish. Ten minutes later Tyler Rose was fouled and jordan Heath made it 2-0 for Harwich from the penalty spot. Whilst Harwich were not at their best, credit Wivenhoe who had made it a close contest. In goal for Harwich, Kane Eles had handled the ball well and the Shrimpers were satisfied to have taken another 3 points after a testing run of matches at the close of the Year.
The Shrimpers have far exceeded expectations at the start of the season and now in 4th place are hoping for a high finish that will gain them entry to the FA Cup and Vase next season. So well done to Managers Kieron Shelley, Michael Wallace and the Team and like the excellent numbers of Supporters they will be looking forward excitedly to 2019.
