The Lopez Tavares team contained some skillfull players and this combined with their speed meant that for most of the first half they looked the better team. Sado Djalo gave Lopez Tavares the lead with a well taken goal that was set up by the dangerous Tigana Quere and the Shrimpers had some close calls as the visitors sought to add a second goal. Nicky Palmer and Brad Westley were impressive in keeping Harwich in touch with Westley going close with a drive that went just past the post. Just before half time Harwich got back on terms when Shaun Mathurin's cross was finished in style by Jordan Heath. Harwich settled down in the second half and went ahead when Heath headed the ball through for Mathurin to cooly shoot past the advancing goalkeeper. Lopez Tavares belied their 4th from bottom position in the League and Quere cleverly worked his way through the Harwich defence with his shot bringing a brilliant save from goalkeeper Sam Felgate. The game swung clearly in Harwich favour when they brought Joe Knight on in a strikers role and he won a penalty when the goalkeeper upended him. Jordan Heath scored with a perfect spot kick and later increased the lead with another good finish to put Harwich firmly in the driving seat. The Shrimpers 4th goal came when Knight was again fouled and although the keeper got a hand to Heath's second penalty kick he could not prevent the Shrimpers ace marksman from completing his hat trick.
