Braintree's keeper Jack Stoneham pulled off a good save from Tyler Rose and it was the visitors who took the lead when a Harwich defender deflected a ball flashing across the goal past keeper Sam Felgate. Harwich equalised with Shaun Kioussis corner being headed home by Elliot Johnson. The Shrimpers welcolmed back Jordan Heath from a lengthy injury and he put them into the lead when he ran through and finished with an excellent finish into the corner of the net. Soon after the restart Rose put Harwich in the driving seat by extending their lead to 3-1. Braintree were really up against it when they were reduced to 10 men by a sending off and Harwich dominated proceedings. Jordan Heath's shot appeared to be rolling towards the net when a last second clearance saved Braintree but in the 70th minute Rose sped through to make it 4-1 in the Shrimpers favour. Braintree kept trying but Harwich were much more dangerous and Ryan Heath broke through to calmly slip in their 5th goal.
