Harwich were on top for the first half hour of the game but it just was not happening for them in the final third of the pitch and they then paid the price when Felixstowe took their first opportunity with Joshua Lee heading in a cross to give them the lead. Early in the second half Harwich at last found a cutting edge and Luke Barnard slotted in their equaliser. It looked as though Harwich were going to take the game by the scruff of the neck when following a mix up in the Felixstowe defence Kevin Coyle was on hand to tap in for the Shrimpers to take the lead. However with Felixstowe again on the back foot, Harwich failed to sew the game up and then defended poorly allowing Connor Field to shoot past the out of postiton goalkeeper Felgate and level the scores. Felixstowe had few scoring chances in the match but they showed how to take them with Jordan Matthews scoring their winning goal and Harwich left to rue what might have been.
