With goalkeeper Sam Felgate out and a similar pattern throughout the team, the Shrimpers Mangement Team had to rejig their line up and were pleased with the response from the players.
Harwich were held up in traffic congestion and the kick off was delayed for 15 minutes and the match was played in horrendous weather . Depsite this the Shrimpers got off to a good start with Kevin Coyle giving them the lead. Frenford equalised but Tyler Rose, on loan from Needham Market, set up Coyle and he restored Harwich lead. Luke Barnard added Harwich third goal to give them a comfortable half time lead. After the break Frenford strove to comeback but Harwich defended well with Harvey Calver at his best. By closing down Frenford's best players Harwich weathered the storm. In attack Barnard and the dimutative but lightening quick Rose formed a dangerous partnership for Harwich. With no further score, Harwich deserved their victory and having suffered a heavy cup defeat by Frenford last season, this shows how far the Shrimpers have improved.
