The home side had a chance in the first minute but it was Harwich who took the lead in the 12th minute when Shaun Gunn was brought down and Jordan Heath converted the resultant penalty kick. Baker and May got on top but the Shrimpers survived due to some stout defending and misses by the home attackers. For Harwich Luke Barnard just could not stretch to convert Bradley Westley's cross in the 39th minute and seconds later Dan Gilchrist put May & Baker into the lead. Calamity struck Harwich when Henry Osel's effort came off goalkeeper Sam Felgate and into the net to give May and Baker a 2-1 half time lead.
Harwich brought on Ben and Michael Hammond on the restart. Harwich equalised in the 60th minute when Michael Hammond scored after good work by Gunn and Barnard. The Shrimpers took control but bad finishing spoiled their good work. They were made to pay in the 85th minute with James Barlow restoring May and Baker's lead and a minute later substitute Elliot Carter delivered a knock out blow by adding the home side's fourth goal.
