Encouraging victory for Harwich against a strong Witham Town team.

Witham took a smart oportunist lead within the first 15minutes with an attacker nipping in between goalkeeper Sam Felgate and the home defence. Harwich equaliser was an excellent goal scored when Sean Mathurian curled a shot from over 20 yards into the corner of the net.
Half time came with the teams level and after the break Felgate had to be alert and pulled off a fine diving save with Witham testing the Shrimpers rearguard. Harwich were also giving a good account of themselves in attack and Ben Hammond came in the blind side of the Witham defence to slot the ball home and give the Shrimpers victory.
