Two goals down in 10 minutes of second half, Harwich came back strongly but Wormingford held on for victory

Harwich had the first clear cut chance when Matt Geen broke through but he was unable to get his shot on target. Wormingford then got through the Harwich defence but on two occassions their attackers lost control of the ball. Harwich final passes were going astray but in the 30th minute they won a free kick and Ollie Lamb's header hit the post only for the ball to bounce back into the goalkeepers arms. Shrimpers keeper Tom Wood saved his team diving on the ball on the goaline when a goal seemed certain and so half time arrived goal less. Almost stragiht from the restart Wanderers won a corner and in a goalmouth scramble Laim Dobson forced home their first goal. In the 10th minute Wormingford scored their second goal and again it followed a corner with Dobson netting with an excellent header. Harwich came back well and in the 65th minute Sam Thompson seized the opportunity to blast the ball into the net and put the Shrimpers back in contention. It was a different game now with Harwich hunting an equaliser and looking the better team. Geen had a shot tipped over the bar and Harwich central defenders Ollie Lamb and Brad Westley joined the attack as Harwich dominated but just could not get in a telling shot to get the draw that their efforts deserved.
