With both teams in tune to the exciting atmosphere generated by their supporters, it was Little Oakley who started strongly with Shrimpers young keeper Brad Cook saving well from Sam Eldridge. Little Oakley suffered a blow in the 25th minute when uncharacteristically Luke Mayhew kicked out and was sent off. In the last 5 minutes before half time Harwich scored two goals to swing the match in their favour. First Luke Barnard netted with a free kick and then ever present this season, jake Richardson struck number two. After the restart Little Oakley tried to comeback wth Leroy Eade sending over a dangerous cross but were unable to take advatage. In the 60th minute Matt Geen, coming back from a long injury, beat his markers before picking his spot to shoot into the corner of the net and put the Shrimpers in an unasailable postiion. Harwich pressed hard looking for a 4th goal and twice Acorns keeper Charlie Pepperall made good saves from Lewis King.
