The Shrimpers tried hard to comeback after West Bergholt's whirlwind start and did rally in the second half to come close in this League Knock Cup Quarter Final.

West Bergholt's first goal came after only 2 minutes when Jack Harrington's pass found Luke Bloomfield in space on the left flank and he cut in to shot past Shrimpers keeper Tom Wood. Worse was to follow for Harwich 6 minutes later when Bloomfield again finished well by scoring his teams second goal with a shot into the roof of the net. West Bergholt looked as though they might run riot with Harwich reeling from this start and came close again with the ball flashing across the Harwich goal. Wood did well to prevent Bloomfield completing a hat trick by toucing his
shot onto the crossbar. Harwich only chance of the half came when Sam Thompson sent over a good cross and Luke Barnard was just beaten to the ball at the expense of a corner.
Harwich came back in the second half when a slip up in the West Bergholt defence was punced upon by Barnard who calmly reduced the arears with a neat finish. West Bergholt had lost the edge that saw them control the first half and with with their neat passing movements Harwich now looked the better team. A crucial moment came in the 80th minute when Barnards free kick hit the crossbar and bouced clear,
Immediately West Bergholt broke away and Darren Bethell broke Harwich hearts by netting the home teams third goal and enusring victory.
