An early lobbed goal by Martin Young saw Kelvedon take the lead. There was more trouble for the Shrimpers when a long kick out by the Kelvedon keeper Gareth Dawson dropped between central defender Ollie Lamb and keeper Tom Wood allowing Young to nip in and score the home sides second goal.
A lack lustre Harwich almost conceeded a third goal minutes before half time when a shot struck the post.
Harwich were given a roasting by their skipper Ollie Lamb during the interval and did play the second half with much more enthusiasm. They did attack more with Sam Thompson getting through but unable to finish and substitute Lewis King had a header and shot that went just wide. Tom Wood was forced to make a fine save from a deflection and Kelvedon ran out worthy winners.
