Having drawn earlier in the season, the Shrimpers again found United difficult opponents and did not get the maximum points that they hoped for.

Hedinghams gave Harwich an early shock when they took the lead in the 7th minute, Keith Argent beating Shrimpers keeper Tom Wood with a shot into the roof of the net. It took Harwich until the 20th minute to equalise with Alex Akinola back heading the ball and Matt Geen applying the finishing touch. Harwich took the lead in the 35th minute with a good finish from an acute angle by Reece Townsend. Thre minutes later Hedinghams were level with Matt Geen sneaking in between defender Ollie Lamb and Wood to net. This was doubley costly for Harwich as in the clash Wood received an injury that hampered him in the second half and needed a hospital visit for stitches after the match.
After the break Harwich regained the lead in the 62nd minute when Geen was fouled and he converted with a perfect penalty kick. Again the Shrimpers lead was short lived when within a couple of minutes a goalmouth scramble resulted in Danny Welch scoring. Both sides tried hard for a winner and in the closing minutes Wood made an excellent save by tipping Daniel Webb'shot over the crossbar.
