With extra time looming, the Shrimpers ace marksman broke the deadlock

Harwich almost took the lead in the 3rd minute when Brad Smith's free kick struck the post. Dedham pressed during the next 15 minutes without success and then Harwich came back. However the nearest the Shrimpers were to come was when goalkeeper Alex Minter made a fine diving save to keep out Reece Townsend's goal bound shot.
After the break the Shrimpers were again within inches of scoring when a cross flashed across the goal and Ollie Lamb slid the ball just the wrong side of the post. Curtis Edwards had a good game at the heart of the Harwich defence and he made a goal line clearance to save the Shrimpers. After that both teams became desparate in their shooting and it seemed that the match was destined for added time. Geen had other ideas and his persistance was rewarded when he shook off the visitors defence to slip home a last gasp winner.
