Harwich started well and in the 10th minute Matt Geen set up Lewis King with a chance but he could not keep his shot down. Ollie Lamb's header was tipped over by keeper Peter Spencer as Harwich continued to creat the best scoring opportunities. As half time approached, Arlesford came back and Shrimpers keeper Tom Wood made two excellent blocks in quick succession.
The second half developed into a midfied stalemate and a goaless draw looked on the cards. Then in the 70th minute play livened up with Harwich mouning a neat attack, Alex Akinola finding Sam Thompson whose cross was touched in by Geen to give the Shrimpers the lead. The game was entertaining cut and thrust now and five minutes later Geen netted Harwich second goal from the penalty spot. The Harwich defence had been resolute throughout and they ensured that there was no way back for Arlesford.
