Harwch took control early on and Brad Smith saw his free kick tipped over the crossbar by Clark Wells. It was against the run of play when in the 15th minute Harwich keeper Sam Quinn was left without cover and Daniel Webb shot into an unguarded net to give Hedinghams the lead. Five minute later Harwich were on terms when Neville Barrett set up Kieron Lammas, making his debut, and he volleyed home. Harwich had to settle for 1-1 at half time, have wasted their scoring opportunities.
Ryan Luckman replaced the injured Quinn in goal for Harwich in the second half. Harwich took the lead in the 75th minute when Sam Thompson's cross was head in by Matt Geen at the far post. In stoppage time a defensive mistake was pounced upon by Alec Pyman to gain a point for Hedinghams.
Harwich rued their poor finishing whilst Hedinghams fought hard to just about deserve a draw.
This was Jake Neale's 100th appearance for Harwich.
