Harwich first goal came within 10 minutes of the start with Matt Geen the scorer. Next Jake Richardson robbed a defender for the Shrimpers second goal. Good work by Sam Thompson saw Geen net number three with only 25 minutes gone. The goal rush continued in the 40th minute with teenager Will Hughes through and calmy beating goalkeeper Peter Spencer to make it 4-0. Another youngster, 17 year old Thomas Wood made a promising debut in the Harwich goal but 2 minutes from half time he had no chance when Tom Gregory's shot took a deflection to pull a goal back for Arlesford.
After the restart Hughes sbot struck the post as Harwich remained on top but in the 58th minute James Walters reduced the arrears further with Arlesfords second goal. Arlesford were more in the game now but Harwich came close with Spencer pulling off a great save by tipping Brad Smith's free kick over the bar. Geen had a shot kicked off the goaline but Harwich could not reproduce their first half sharpness and add to their
tally.
