Harwich took the lead within the first 10 minutes when Micheal Murray rose high above the defenders to beat goalkeeper Spencer. Shrimpers keeper Jordan Giddings make a fine save to tip Ryan Lewis shot over as play evened up. As the closely contested first half drew to a close Arlesford equalised when the Harwich defence were caught up field and with only Murray left, Giddings was forced to come out leaving Lewis to calmly slot the ball into the vacant net.
Arlesford looked set to take a second half lead but Giddings saved in a one on one situation. Harwich then got on top and three times Luke Barnard had opportunities but each time he was thwarted by good diving saves by Spencer. There was a danger that Harwich would be caught out by Arlesford's quick breaks using the dangerous Aiden O'Bien and Lewis. With ten minutes remaining Arlesford were awarded a hotly disputed penalty and Lewis made no mistake from the spot. Harwich display should have earnt them at least a point but in the closing minutes Lewis completed his hat trick to ensure all 3 points for his team.
