Harwich were 2-0 down with 10 minutes remaining but battled back to earn a deserved point.

Gas looked good at the start and Shrimpers keeper Sam Felgate was busy. The visitors took the lead in the 7th minute when Eldon Craig's shot found the corner of the net. Defending well after this set back, Harwich fought their way back into the game and at half time Gas still only had a slender one goal lead.
After the break Harwich created scoring chances. First Craig Martin broke through the Gas defence but was off target with his snap shot. They had a better chance when Matt Geen put substitute Michael Hammond in but he could not get a good contact with his shot. Luke Taylor hooked his shot over in a good Gas attack and then with 10 minutes remaining Craig's shot through a crowded goalmouth proved too srong for the hand that Felgate got to it for the second goal. It seemed that Harwich sterling efforts would go unrewarded but they never gave up. With only a couple of minutes left Hammond lobbed the advancing keeper to reduce the arrears. The Shrimpers thrilling comeback was oompleted in the last minute when Geen's shot for the corner of the net was pushed out by the diving keeper and the alert Hammond slotted in the equaliser.
