Harwich almost took the lead in the 5th minute when Ben Elliott crossed and Martin Warnes shot towards an unguarded net but the visitors keeper made a fine recovery to save at the expense of a corner. After this White Notley began to get on top and took the lead in the 20th minute through Mitchell Yeo. Things were going wrong for Harwich now and goals from Terry Vangender and Reece Codd gave White Notley a commanding 3-0 lead. Michael Murray gave Harwich a ray of hope when he reduced the arrears before half time but the Shrimpers plight was desparate in the 50th minute when Elliott was deemed to have made a dangerous tackle and was sent off.
The 10 men of Harwich fought back bravely and were back in the game when Player Manager Warnes headed in their second goal. Having been outplayed during the first half, Harwich were the better team in the second period and rescued a deserved point when in the closing stages Ashley Wood's super free kick from 25 yards nestled sweetly in the corner of the net.
