FC Holland have ambitions for an early move to a higher league and they made a whirlwind start at the Royal Oak. Steve Eaton put them ahead in only the 2nd minute and in another couple of minutes Bruce Poole netted their second goal. He scored again in the 10th minute and Harwich were shell shocked. In the 33rd minute Eaton scored his second goal and Holland's fourth leaving Harwich with a mountain to climb. There was a ray of hope for the Shrimpers in the 45th minute when Ashley Wood's corner was headed home by Jake Neale to reduce the defecit.
This lifted the Shrimpers spirits and to their credit they battled hard in the second half, determined not to get a drubbing but instead to get back into the game. Holland looked a very good team and did score again in the 72nd minute with Poole completing a fine hat trick, but Harwich continued to show better form and did not concede again.
