Harwich had to defend in the 7th minute and Dom Nea did well to clear the ball off the goal line. The Shrimpers then went on the attack and Chris Stratton's shot was well saved at the expense of a corner. Tollesbury took the lead in the 19th minute when a cross cannoned off a defender and Danny Cross bulleted headed the ball home. Harwich mounted a series of attacks with Ben Elliot and Ashley Wood sending over dangerous crosses. As they continued to press Ryan Heath was just wide and then shot over following a good opening created by Stratton. Harwich were rewarded in the 44th minute when Ashley Wood equalised with a clever looping shot.
In the 67th minute Michael Murray made a penetrating run and put Harwich in front with a cool finish. Matt Geen powered through the home defence but had made the angle too difficult and the ball was cleared. In the closing minutes it seemed that Harwich would be robbed of victory when Tollesbury pressed and Ben White headed and equaliser. However in the 4th minute of added time Elliot scored a great winner for Harwich when he raced away and shot into the far corner of the net.
With regular goalkeeper Sam Felgate unavailable special praise must be given to outfield player Richard Traynor who stepped into the breach and had a fine game.
