Darren Bethell had a chance for Harwich when he was through in the 13th minute but his shot went outside the post. He was closer with a free kick from just outside the penalty area. Harwich goalkeeper Sam Felgate was in fine form making saves from Ryan Garvey and Gary Mcilwaine. Although still goal less, the second half continuted to be end to end and entertaining. Bethell had a shot deflected over the bar and Harwich mounted their best move when Chris Stratton weaved through the visitors defence and then Ashley Wood was inches away from converting Matt Geen's pass. Felgate made a great save from Gareth Gibson and then a fantastic one with a flying leap to turn Mcilwaine's effort over the bar. In a pulsating last 10 minutes the game could have gone either way and a draw was a fair result.
Harwich had proved that they have the ability to compete well in the Premier Division and their confidence will have received a major boost.
