After a hard fought match with extra time, four excellent spot kicks put the Shrimpers into the next round

Goalkeeper Nick Goodwin distinguished himself in the 30th minute when he thwarted a clean through White Notley attacker. Harwich took the lead in the 42nd minute with a fine move when Tom Farthing headed on for Craig Martin to put Darren Bethell through and he finished clinically.
White Notley were on terms in the 50th minute with Fillip Kottas netting from close range. The strong wind made things difficult but both teams gave maximum effort in an entertaining second half that saw fortunes see-saw. A free kick from Bethell picked out Jake Neale at the far post and he restored Harwich lead. White Notley levelled the scores again on the hour through Rob Beckwith-Addison and then Goodwin again saved the Shrimpers in a one on one situation but later Reece Codd put White Notley ahead for the first time. With time running out this looked a likely winner but Harwich refused to be beaten and ensured an extra half hour when Richard Gamble's excellent through pass was tucked away by substitute Robbie Marks.
Despite their best efforts neither side could find a winner in extra time and so to penalties. Ashley Wood gave Harwich a flying start with the first kick and then White Notley missed. Another well taken kick by Dick Traynor increased Harwich advantage. Nick Goodwin saved and Vlad Muresan made in 3-0 for the Shrimpers. White Notley scored their first but Bethell put Harwich through when he beat the home keeper.
