Encouraging start for Harwich in first friendly

Brantham took the lead with a smart finish from Ben Allington. Harwich took time to settle but with the introduction of Michael Hammond in midfield matched their opponents. The Shrimpers equaliser was well worked with Matt Geen providing the opportunity for Chris Stratton to finish clinically. The match was proving a good work out with action at both ends. In the closing stages Harwich snatched victory when Ashley Wood's clever long pass was well read by the alert Geen who netted with a cracking shot.
In the short pre-season since their appointment the Shrimpers managers have done well to assemble a useful squad.
