A draw was a fair result from an interesting match in which defences were on top and scoring chances at a premium.
Harwich included John Stace in their line-up, his last match for the Club being in 2009. Last season's Shrimpers Darren and Bobby Bethell appeared for West Bergholt.
There were chances for Craig Martin and Robbie Marks during the first half in which Harwich had a slight edge whilst later Darren Bethell was denied by a fine save from Shrimpers goalkeeper Sam Felgate. Wtih 5 minutes remaining Ashley Wood came close to snatching victory for Harwich.
