Harwich were without goalkeeper Sam Felgate but were fortunate to have an able substitute in Matt Stace. Hedingham were also without their normal keeper but were forced to field an inexperienced deputy. Harwich made a good start and took the lead in the 7th minute through Craig Martin. There was a scare for Harwich but Stace proved his agility to prevent an own goal. Then in the 26th minute when Ashley Wood set up Robbie Marks who finished well to score the second goal. Three minutes later Michael Griggs netted the Shrimpers third goal and just before half time Marks made it 4-0 from Martin's pass. Hedingham tried to reduce the deficit Stace saved Sam George's effort.
In the second half Hedingham were rewarded for their efforts when Jamie Chandler made it 4-1but Harwich then scored the best goal of the game with Robbie May cracking home a 40 yard strike. With 10 minutes remaining Marks completed his hat trick.
