This was Harwich first visit to Hatfield Peverels new ground and when work has been completed this should be an impressive venue. On the field the home team, having earlier knocked the Shrimpers out of the League Cup, again proved themselves to be very strong opposition and deserved their victory. Harwich were forced to make some team changes but from the start created some scoring opportunities. However it was Hatfield Peverel who took the lead when goalkeeper Elliot Harrison, making his first apperance of the season was lobbed. The Harwich defence was caught out with a cross, allowing the home side a tap in second goal. Just before half time the Shrimpers suffered a further set back when Hatfield Peverel netted their third goal.
Harwich battled well in the second half but were unable to reduce the deficit and Hatfield Peverel scored a fourth goal.
Goalscorers were S. Barden, M.Knight (2) and Man of the Match J.Smith.
