Harwich got off to a bad start when a mix up between central defender Vlad Muresan and goalkeeper Sam Felgate saw the alert Luke Good nip in to give Little Oakley a 5th minute lead. Little Oakley's Jame Eade was sent off in the 12th minute but they reorganised their line up well and Harwich were unable to make their numerical advantage count. Gary Stanford, playing a lone role for Little Oakley up front threatened and Shaun Kioussis was also dangerous coming forward. Harwich had chances but lacked conviction and half time arrived without any further goals. Soon after the restart Felgate saved Harwich when Kioussis broke through. Little Oakley scored a vital second goal in the 60th minute when they were awarded a penalty for hand ball and Kioussis made no mistake from the spot. Harwich desparetly needed a goal to get back in the game and there best attempt came when Chris Stratton's free kick produced a fine diving save from Matt Windred at the expense of a corner. The game was out of reach for Harwich in the 70th minute when Little Oakley scored a really good goal, breaking smartly from defence Good setting up Kioussis to net his second goal. Little Oakley's fourth goal came from another quick break when Daryl Elmer netted but with Harwich appealing for offside the Referee ruled that the ball had been played on by a home player.
