Holland F.C. knew that victory would see them leap frog over Harwich in the table and they were in the Shrimpers faces from the kick off. Despite being unable to put their game together, Harwich managed to stay on terms in a goal less first half. When Colin Harn scored for Holland 5 minutes after the restart Harwich resistance fell to pieces. Straight soon scored the home team's second goal and the match was as good as over. Meadows and Poole scored further goals for Holland as Harwich passes continued to go astray. With 15 minutes remaining Mark Palmer pounced on a mistake to reduce the arrears but it was too little too late for the Shrimpers.
