Harwich overcome persistent White Notley in 7 goal encounter

Both sides had chances before a handball by a defender gave Robbie Marks the opportunity to put Harwich ahead from the penalty spot in the 20th minute. The Shrimpers defence was caught napping in the 42nd minute when the unmarked Greg Bryant slotted in the visitors equaliser. A minute before half time Darren Bethell restored Harwich lead with an excellent shot on the turn.
Five minutes after the break Steve Oldhamstead scored to seemingly put Harwich in control but 12 minutes later Jonah Gosling weaved his way through to reduce the defecit to a single goal and put White Notley back in contention. The hard working Mark Palmer popped up to restore Harwich two goal cushion but the visitors were not done and James Duckworth scored to set up a close finish. The heavy pitch was testing the players stamina but the Shrimpers proved equal to the challenge and kept their noses in front to take all three points.
