Injuries and unavailability forced Harwich to make four changes to their line-up but the players coming in did well and this was a much better performance than at Little Oakley on Saturday. Jimmy Chatters gave the Shrimpers the lead in the 17th minute and although there were few scoring chances, the game was always entertaining with Harwich deserving their slender lead at the interval.
West Bergholt equalised in the 52nd minute when Craig Hammerton nipped in to net following indecision in the Harwich defence. The winning goal, scored in the very last minute was a cruel blow for Harwich but was well taken with Gareth Gibson powerfully heading in Craig Minter’s cross.
